A young man gets employment as a train dispatcher during the Second War. He is as naive in private life as he is in his profession. After faltering once before his girl, he develops self-aversion and tries to kill himself because of a pre-mature ejaculation. The inspector at the railways station cannot keep himself off females. The Station Master would love to hang around with women, but is not able to.

Nazis control Czechoslovakia at that point. Partisans are a constant threat to trains and tracks. Confusions and doubts are resolved to general satisfaction. CWT was awarded as the Best Foreign Film at the Oscar's.
