Tom Hanks is the quintessential good guy of Hollywood. The man can do no wrong if he tries. The role of an anti-hero or a bad man is a big gap in his repertoire.
Julia Roberts is a special woman. Her eyes speak more than her smile. I have always had doubts about her being an overactor though.
Bryan Cranston plays a perfect asshole of a husband to Julia who teaches Speech in a College where Tom Hanks takes admission to improve his prospects after he is laid off by his employers. The film has oodles of 'cute' but never takes off.
Watchable? Yes, because there is Hanks, and he is with Julia.
