Disappearance of an NRI would- be groom and his English friend lead into a reluctant manhunt. Two cops- a middle aged father on warpath with his wilful daughter, and a young man who gets to share his sister-in-law with his brother as a sort of consolation prize for not starting his own family and thereby cause divisions in the family land.- try to find the missing persons.
The story is set in rural Punjab, and takes us to the grassroots. Local administration is not keen on investigation. The mere mention of homosexuality is anathema for the traditional folk. The series allows space to all its characters and lets them blossom into their roles. The result is an authentic product which can be savoured.Suvinder Vicky and Barun Sobti have done remarkably, as has Varun Badola. The series ends on a satisfying note-providing clear cut closure. Kohrra is a triumph of Punjabi series.
