FATHER STU 2022

This is the story of Stuart Long, who retired as a boxer and felt drawn towards Hollywood. There he found a job at a meat shop, met and fell for a Mexican girl, got baptised for her sake, met with an accident, found God, decided to become a priest, was denied, kept pushing and ultimately touched many lives. This is a story of discovery of the self. A man can dig deep and find his purpose, if he is truthful. Mark Wahlberg is good as the boxer, the charmer and even as a priest. The film is a moving picturization of a sincere life, but ultimately fails to entertain. That is the basic test, and the film fails that.
A word about Mel Gibson's turn as the father of Stuart - convincing!
