A retired police havildar is passing his days in misery and silence. He has applied for extension, but things seem to be moving slowly.
Tension is simmering in his building over the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. The matter seems poised to boil over into Marathi Manoos Versus Bihari problem. Their petty leaders are fishing for trouble.
A girl and his brother arrive next door, and make acquaintances with the reticent havildar.
Hell freezes over. Manoj Vajpayee nails the role as only he can. The film is brilliantly shot, and transports us to the choked world of Mumbai slums, and local regional politics.
