RATANPUR - Not a Bad Gujju FILM

RATANPUR 2018
by
Tushar Sadhu

AN IPS Officer Trainee is assigned to Ratanpur in Gujarat. This place is near the Rajasthan border and is the hub of liquor smuggling. A bootlegger kingpin is murdered soon after and many local players come into the ambit of suspicion. Land disputes and sexual tensions come into light, but the real murderer eludes the police. It is then through  a stratagem that the IPS officer nails the culprits.
For a Gujarati film, Ratanpur is very well made. There is palpable tension and joy of storytelling, as well as pride in acting as exhibited by Tushar Sadhu. Of course, it could have been a much better film, but for all that it is, it is not a bad watch either.
