A compelling plot, committed cast and brilliant execution
make Criminaj Justice a mustwatch series.
I have never seen either Vikrant Massey or Pankaj Tripathy
put down wrong foot in their careers. For a part- time cabbie , charged with a murder
, he is not sure he didn’t commit, Vikrant had a tough role to play. He is at
home inside the prison and outside it, as a boy having good time as well as
bad. Here is a complete actor – someone who can play any damn role he is
offered.
Pankaj plays a small time lawyer on the lookout to make
some quick bucks. He doesn’t mind working hard for it , retains his optimism as
well as his humanity. It is his wry humour and half smile which provide the
punch.
Then there is Jackie Shroff
who is the prison overlord. After Aaranya Kandam , he really has found
second wind, and such roles suit him perfectly. He has an aura befitting a
fossil of a gangster.
The rest of the supporting cast including Mita Vashisht,
Anupriya Goenka and Dibyendu Bhattacharjee
and others have also done well. With a bit of smarter editing, the
series would have been much tighter. Nevertheless, this is a great effort.
