ANIMALS 2026
by
Ben Affleck
When one tries to play too smart with the script and contrive for all sorts of political nastiness, it often fails to land. Animals does not surprise me with its failure to collapse under its weight. You can't have your race cake and eat it too with immigration, election and marriage. It is a tad too much to manage. Kerry Washington is absolutely unlikable. Gillian Anderson is ice-cold. Ben keeps it together, but too much over-smartness never impresses the audience. No tears shed for this clever-by-half project!
