Michael Keaton is a veteran serial killer put behind bars by Robert De Niro in the 90s. Children are disappearing at a brisk pace in the city again. The killer records whispers and sends them to the surviving parents to cause further trauma. Adam Scott plays a widowed novelist whose son also gets abducted. He turns out to be the estranged son of De Niro, who is forced to return to action once again. 

De Niro still packs the punch. His expressions are what maketh the film. Scott and Keaton play their parts. Michelle Monaghan plays a regular cop with light touch. The Whisper Man works only because of Bob, else there are too many coincidences and plot holes to let the film fly.
