Deepti Naval is a powerful artist. She is married to Alok Nath in the film who is not happy at getting hitched. He already feels the burden of his unemployed father, drunkard of a brother and mother, and finds himself trapped. He vanishes one day without a trace. Deepti takes up a job and takes care of his family. She falls in love with a colleague at work, played by Pankaj Kapoor. Her ex-husband's family accepts this relationship. At this point, their son comes back from obscurity, and everything changes for the worse. It is that kind of a film. Except for climax, I liked its writing and presentation. Acting is first-rate. Rajendra Nath plays the hateworthy father-in-law with great gusto. Sudhir's direction is first class.
