Asaf Ali has really come into his own. As his newly wed wife, Aparna Balamurali complements him well. He is stuck with his father in their forest house. His ex-wife had died of cancer, while his son is missing for more than three years. The father has misplaced a gun which has to be submitted for safe-keeping during elections. Naxals infest the nearby forest land. A monkey's dead body is recovered from the land that was sold by the father two years back. The monkey was shot by a gun. Was that the same gun? How many bullets were missing? This is a trying, tiring, technically brilliant film which can be dubbed as a 'slowburn mystery, one which ultimately proves to be very rewarding. The film is shot around reserve forests of Kalpathi near Palakkad.

Hats off to Malayalam cinema for keep coming up with gems like these.
