Larry David has decided to call it a day. Larry David can never retire. HE would be churning out some other stuff I am sure, but CYE is now over and done with. In the last season, he is put on trial for giving water to a voter standing in voting line.
Episodes are full of usual tropes, Larry is as offensive as ever. The schlemiel is out to offend those who must be, and yet defend what must be. His resistance to social and culture values and practices is centred around protecting individual liberty and eccentricities. Jeff, Susi, Cheryl, Tad, Funkhowser and Richard are all there to say goodbye. I have a lot of affection for all these characters, and would miss them dearly. Yet they are all there to be savoured, all 121 episodes across 12 seasons!
