The Mauritanian - Where is the punch?

 The MAURITANIAN 2021

This is the story of Mohamedou Ould Slahi, a Mauritanian who was held in Guantanamo for 14 years without any charge. The story is quite plainly told, but it is Tahar Rahim who brings the role to life. Jodie Foster plays her counsel with gusto. Benedict Cumberbatch is quite restrained and lifeless in the role of prosecutor. The film could have been much better with a better screenplay.
