SHERNI - The Jungle Always Works

 SHERNI 2021

Despite all the just criticism of identity fudging against Sherni, I liked the film because it takes me to the jungle and exposes the depravity of men.

Man is a consumer. If things come to pass, he would consume anyone and everything. What is wildlife for man? Worst among men are politicians. They would sell their kith and kin for votes, what is a tigress or her cubs' worth for her?

The film gets its environmentalism right. Vidya Balan is not intolerable. Neeraj Kavi and Brijendra Kala have done well. Vijay Raaz is as brilliant as ever. Sharat Saxena is as hateworthy as ever, and that is the point. The film could have been a tad shorter, but all's fine since the cubs live.
