Judas & the Black Messiah - Perhaps the Best of the 8 Best Picture Nominations

JUDAS & the BLACK MESSIAH 2021

The Black Messiah is Chairman Fred Hampton, Illinois Black Panther chapter, played by Daniel Kaluuya.  Judas is Bill O'Neill who was an FBI mole in the Organization, betrayed Fred and got him killed. Lakeith Stanfield has played this part.

Daniel Kaluuya is scarily talented. It just oozes out of him. It is a matter of time before the Get Out actor wins his first Academy Award. Perhaps, it shall be this year. Stanfield is also nominated in the Best Supporting actor category.

It is remarkable how the journey of these two super-talented actors is running across parallelly. Both are 32. Both were part of Get Out. Both have been nominated in the same category, Kaluuya's second overall nomination.

The film's camerawork is beautiful, as is the music. Acting is superb, though peak is achieved when Stanfield is with Jesse Plemons. It is too bad that Stanfield and Kaluuya do not get many substantial scenes together. Glad to know that Martin Sheen is alive and well, and spewing venom against J. Edgar Hoover.

Watch this film. Out of the 8 Best Picture nominations, this one seems like the best. AFI has confirmed that.
