I wonder why has Serbia produced this film. Simply beats me ! That said, it is a very well made and authentic cinema on Garhwal.
Victor Banerjee comes back to his native village, forty years after had escaped after committing a crime and rebelling against the deep-rooted caste biases of his people. He is not welcomed, and he realizes that a lot of bias was still prevalent in the name of tradition.
Gitanjali Thapa is an educated Pahari girl who runs a local school which is burnt by goons. Victor and Gitanjali are quite good in their roles. Raj Zutushi and Uttara Baorkar lend good support.
This is a very well shot film considering the landscapes. Garwali marriage ceremony is nicely captured. The film is a good watch, and certainly watchable for Victor.
