Four short films, directed by Vetri Maran, Gautham Menon, Sudha Kongara and Vignesh Shivan, show widely prevalent against women. It is the frontier on which so-called honour is defended. Not just her own, but her family's and even the community's honour is supposed to reside in her body. This is what breeds violence in her name and upon her.
Honor killings, violence against transvestites, gays, lesbians, rapes and rape victims are endemic. Is there any way to bring them down?
The short films are well directed, but ultimately reach nowhere. Sai Pallavi and Prakash Raj in Vetri Maran's segment are awesome, as is Simran in Gautam Menon's. None of the four film disappoints, making this, all in all, a good outing.
