Joaquin Guzman is finally arrested and extradited to the US.
Conrado Sol (a character based on Garcio Luna) lets Chapo escape maximum security prison, and then captures him to discredit the President, and catapult himself into glory. The series which began in quite a drab manner finally comes alive in the last season.
It is overconfidence on part of both the druglord and Sol that the game of cat and mouse extends for so long. The series sheds quite some light on the way of functioning of Mexican politics, esp. the personalities of two erstwhile Presidents - Carlos Salinas and Pena Neto.
