This is the story of a longstanding feud between two farm neighbours in Robber's Rise. One is the Master of the Valley and the other is the Master of the Hill. They spend their lives fighting in taverns, on their farms and in courts.
It is a beautifully shot film with remarkably detailed farm life. It is based on AH Tammasaare's works, and is a tribute to the Estonia rural life. The film treatment is universal, and hence the film leaves behind an impression with everyone. It was the Estonian entry into Oscars,but did not win, although it did make it to the shortlist.
