Dont watch this film if you are about to buy a new house. 

The money pit in question is a house which screws Tom Hanks and Shelley Long. The couple buy this from an old lady and it turns out to be an absolute disaster. Nothing works. Rather everything malfunctions in this godforsaken house. 

Tom Hanks has shown his superb comic timing in this film. It is a remake of some Carey Grant fare of late 40s.
