Liam Neeson, the quintessential good man of Hollywood, plays an ex-cop who bwgan selling insurance for the sake of providing for his family. One fine day, he is fired without notice. On his commute back to home, a mysterious woman, Vera Ferminga, intercepts him and tells him of an offer he cannot refuse. 

The drama in the Commuter is eminently enjoyable given that the cast is full of heavyweights- Neeson, Ferminga, Patrick Wilson, Sam Neill, Elizabeth McGovern and Jonathan Ray Banks. But the worth of an action film must be measured by its genre thrills, which do not disappoint. 

Liam Neeson is ever reliable in the sense that his films are never unwatchable.
