Kriti Sanon looks very beautiful and convincing as Parvati Bai. Arjun Kapoor is not bad as Sadashiv Rao. He comes across as a bull among men, possessor of natural force, fit for historical roles. Sanjay Dutt as Ahmed Shah Abdali is embarrassing , but less so than Ranveer Singh’s Alauddin Khalji and Saif’s Uday Bhan Rathod. Mohnish Bahl looks every bit as slimy as Nana Saheb Peshwa.
Jat King Suraj Mal was ill-treated by Marathas. It is also a fact that after Balaji Vishwanath, Marathas never accorded any respect to anyone outside Maharashtra. The film is quite entertaining and works for most of the time.
Panipat is by no means a bad film. I quite enjoyed the story, but for Sanjay Dutt’s jarring note.
