Dwight became Elton John pretty early in his career. Music came easy to this
child prodigy, and success never deserted him. He did come from a broken home
and felt unloved since his early days. His addictions with alcohol, drugs, sex
and shopping are subject of the film. John’s insecurities, pain and loneliness and homosexuality make life
difficult for him, but ultimately he comes out triumphant.
Elton
John is now sober for 28 years and happily married with David Furnish, is a
father of two , and musically active.
His struggles have finally borne fruit.
This
musical is strictly for fans of Elton John. His complaints and self-pity become
bothersome after a point. Tager Egerton has done well as Elton, but wont win
many awards for his efforts.
