If a screenplay cant stand up like a palace of cards, the
film wont work even if the performances are good. Rajkumar Rao shall deliver
even if he plays a pole, or a cart, and Kangana can slip into a disturbed
person’s shoes even in her sleep. Infact her real life antics are so eerily
similar to this character’s, that it is rather tricky to comprehend if Kangana
is playing Bobby Grewal, or Bobby is playing Kangana ! But the film does not
make much sense, either to the cast, or to its characters and certainly not to
its audience.
As for the concerns around trivialisation of mental issues,
everyone , even the Indian Psychiatric Society must do everything to stay
relevant. This is the norm in our country, nay almost a ritual.
