MANIKARNIKA - An Average but an Important Film

Hugh Rose called her the ‘only man among mutineers’.  Where does that leave Tatiya Tope who was later executed in 1859 ?
The role of Gwalior Maharaja was downright shameful. I wonder how his successors are still able to command respect in this country in the name of their family.
I liked Kangana’s intensity, but the lines are clichéd and lack intensity. The plot is a tad too simplistic, and characters too stereotyped. The film is very long, and tests the patience of the viewer.
Jissu Sengupta’s effortless performance  is a treat to watch. Danny and Atul Kulkerni look insincerely committed. The film is important, and hence must be watched. It is not a waste of time.
