Horror is a risky genre. It is sureshot way to make people
laugh. It is also a reliable option to burn money and sink your career. Sujoy Ghosh played safe with Typewriter. The
web-series might or not work as a horror show, but does manage to keep one
hooked thanks to the kids’ gang of wannabe ghost hunters.
It is Sam ,played by the wonderful Aarna Sharma, who leads
this gang. This little gang wants to confront a ghost and ask him/her to
connect with her deceased mom.
Purab Kohli plays her dad who happens to be a local Goan
cop. Palomi Ghosh and Samir Kochar also do well in their cameos. There is no
genuine scare, you don’t jump out of your seats but one does feel a bit uneasy
with so many deaths and a spooky typewriter.
