Badla - An Imperfect Imitation of the Invisible Guest

This film is a shameless copy of The Invisible Guest, but still lacks the gravitas of the former. An adulterous young business achiever disposes off the body of an accident victim in order to hide her own culpability, thereby endangering her personal as well as professional life .

The narrative runs through a house call by  Mr Bachchan , a senior lawyer, and Taapsee, the accused. The script is sloppy at times, but manages to stay afloat.

Amitabh is generally good , except when he cracks lame jokes, and laughs half-heartedly. Taapsee tries too hard,  but looks too bland in some of the scenes. Manav Kaul is wasted. Amrita Singh bites more than she can chew.

There are a few unexplained points in the film which kill its pace and logic. How did Manav Kaul prove that Pannu was in Paris on the day of the incident- its afterall a matter of arranging Boarding Passes, which is no small matter. Overall a fast-paced film, but not something that might grab audience by balls.
