Patriot Act-Protests in Sudan- Good Comedy With Conscience

Hasan Minhaj
Patriot Act- Protests in Sudan

Comedy with conscience usually gets quite intolerable, but Hasan manages to churn out a good show on Sudan .
He focuses on Sudan Professionals Association,an alliance of doctors, lawyers, journalists and other professionals, who forced the ouster of President Omar Bashir. Now they have taken on the Transitional military rulers who are responsible for the June 3 Khartoum massacre.
Minhaj talks about the war in Darfaur, role then and prominence now of Delmeiti, the Depy.Chief of Transitional Govt.,his patronage of Janjaweed militia, his closeness with Saudis,UAE and Egypt, and his role in checking emigration from Eritrea and Ethiopia into Europe. Sudan’s eastern border runs along the Red Sea,and its importance for the GCC and USA is beyond question.
This episode has been a surprise. Minhaj keeps to the point and delivers an understated but engaging show.
