Hasan Minhaj : Patriot Act- Indian Elections ,SWF and Goldman Sachs
Hasan just
pays some lip service to Indian poll results,and pokes legit fun at Navika
Kumar and her ‘intense’ shows. As is the wont of every artist ,he flaunts his
twitter trollings ,mentions BJP as a Hindu Nationalist party,doesn’t call Congress
a party run by a Dynasty, mentions Ananth Hegde, Pragya Thakur and Sakshi
Maharaj and points towards Modi’s photo-ops. Indian Elections are way more
funny than this guy could ever convey. Only soundbytes and pictures would have
sufficed.
But the
second part of show where he talks about Goldman Sachs’ misuse of their
expertise and reputation to ruin Malaysian and Libyan Sovereign Wealth Funds is
really good. There is not much humour,unless you consider him calling the
promoter of 1MDB ,Jho Low ,a gulabjamun with glasses funny. Jho networked with
PM Najib Razak and together the two are accused of siphoning off 4.5 bn USD
from the SWF. Hasan Minhaj makes Goldman Sachs’ culpability the centre piece of
this gag and I really liked that part .
