JACK RYAN (TV series)
Jack Ryan is a Tom Clancy character. He begins as a
low-level financial analyst ,but unearths some suspicious financial
transactions ,is weaned off his desk job into thick of action.
John Krasinski plays the eponymous role ,who is a former
marine –turned- CIA analyst.Wendell Pierce is his boss who has converted to
Islam for the sake of his wife, but is now doubtful of his choice.
Abbe Cornish is his girlfriend.She is a doctor who
specialises in infectious diseases.
The series,like most Tom Clancy fare has a lot of masala
going – an unauthorised drone strike,coup in ISIS, sarin gas attack in Paris by
Yemeni terrorists, use of ebola virus as weapon,planned Cesium attack in US and
many other high adrenaline stuff.
The series runs at a brisk pace. Casting is damn good. It
is fun as long as it lasts.
