Gaurav has a camera-friendly presence and good sense to be
a non-intrusive conversationalist . The format is like T20 of interviews , and stays clear of controversies.
The aim is to get familiarised with cricket stars , and in this ,the show
delivers.
Shoaib akthar comes across as a bindaas Pindi boy with a
lot of passion. Absence of malice in him is something which is very obvious.
Zaheer Khan might
have been a professor, or a fashion designer . He is infact a good cook. Ajit
Agarkar ,his neighbour, drops by during the conversation, and carries on the
same relaxed mould.
Ajinkya is awkward to the core. He likes to be called
Ajju,and not Jinx. He is as poor with words as he is at rotating strike.
Danny Morrison lives in a world of his own. He is
enthusiastic, attention-seeking and chilled out. But somewhere you feel he is
sharper than he lets on.
Bishan Paahji loves to speak his mind, sensationalise and
throw in words like junoor ,sukoon ,dhandha and sadhna . He talks about Bradman,
Sobers , Sunny ,Prasanna and Warne as well as premature ejaculations. Angad
Bedi plays a nice foil to him.
Dwayne Bravo cribs a lot about vergetarian food. He is one
of those people who don’t like to experiment much with food and it shows. There
is hardly any cricketing discussion with Dravo except that he tells us that
Lara was his idol while growing up.
BWC is a decent series with short ,televised tete-a-tetes.
I do look forward to watching the next season as well.
