night shift 1982

The arrival of debutant Michael Keaton in the life of a morgue attendant Harry Winkler changes
it upside down. All Harry wished for is peace .He had quit stock market for the
calmness of the morgue. Now his boss had
unfairly transferred him to the night shift.Harry’s neurotic girlfriend also
causes him anxiety with her weight obsession and control freak nature.Keaton
plays an an-idea-a-minute guy who starts troubling Harry with his constant chatter
and energy. But amidst all this melee ,Harry develops feelings for a prostitute
who lives next door, and whose pimp had passed.Somehow, the duo find themselves
playing pimps to a bunch of call girls and start having a lot of fun.
Michael Keaton is a great man,a showstealer, and this is
obvious from his debut itself. He might go a bit over the top but never manages
to irk the viewer.Winkler plays a more sensible guy who has atleast some semblance
of planning in him.Shelley Long has looked amazingly beautiful in the film. This
is a laugh riot and must have inspired a lot of inspirations and remakes across
the world.I can simply watch it again for Keaton.
