A retired Marine Colonel is obsessed with finding his son who went MIA in Vietnam in 1972. A decade later, this officer, played by Gene Hackman, assembles a team of Vietnam vets, as well as Patrick Swayze, to put his plan into action. Randall 'Tex' Cobb plays an important part in the film. Gene's performance does make one believe in the story and establish the vital connect. 'Bring our boys home' is anyways a line that always reverberates with the audience. Do not watch it for layered acting, although Gene does not disappoint, but for what the film stands for.
