Jose Mourinho labelled himself as A Special One (not the, but a) on the day he joined Chelsea as its coach. Roman Abramovich had spent a fortune in buying the club and then obviously wanted to win some silverware to show. Jose had just won the UEFA Champions League with Porto when he came over to Chelsea. The story begins with the dramatic toughening of the boys in blue. John Terry, Daniel Drogba, Peter Cech and Frank Lampard formed the core of the side that won Chelsea two EPLs in three years. Mourinho was the flavour of England in those years. He was hated by media but loved by football fans. A legend was born.
Jose's intense and win-at-all-cost mentality ultimately resulted in a breach with Roman. Jose ended up joining Inter Milan which he guided to domestic and European successes. The documentary discusses in detail how Zlatan Ibramovic was traded against cash and Samuel E'to, and that proved to be a gamechanger.
At his peak, Jose left to take charge of Real Madrid. The manager began badly but gradually filled his side with his own conviction. His later move to Chelsea and had further success. The controversy around him succeeding Sir Alex at Man U, his later journey to Man U, his tenures at Roma, Tottenham, Beneficia and now again Real Madrid, have all been covered. His verbal sallies with Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola generated quite some eyeballs. Mourinho's method and personality come across well in this documentary.
Mourinho is now in charge of Real Madrid. He is at present one of the best, if not the best one we've had. I quit enjoyed the documentary, but hoping for a better showing at the helm of Real Madrid.
