What is it about web-series made in Punjab with a Punjabi background? The first I watched was Tabbar starring Pavan Malhotra. Kohrra 1 & 2 were classics. CAT boasts of Suvinder Vicky as a two-faced cop and Randeep Hooda as a man with a troubled past clouded by years of terrorism.
The series comes alive around these two powerful performers. Earthiness of characters around them grows upon you. Chitta, powder, guns and gaalis are ubiquitous. Punjab has a lot of unexplored glamour. A state that has seen years of insurgency and is affected by drugs on a mega scale must have many more stories to offer. I just loved CAT, everything about it is so honest and well-made! Thanks Balwinder Singh Janjua for conceiving this project. Special mention must be made of Hasleen Kaur and Pramod Pathak, both of whom play cops with opposite shades.
