18 years after the film was released, it is still engaging and impressive enough on a repeat viewing. Anupam Kher as the Police Commissioner and Naseeruddin Shah as the common man who sends Mumbai into a tizzy in those four hours on that fateful Wednesday remain just as flawless. Time has not dated their performances. And yet, the film's message is not as clear as it was then. Is every common man fed up with terrorism? Where do sundry sympathizers come from? Who are the enablers and apologists if not common people? In its first viewing, A Wednesday! shocked with its twist. After multiple viewings, it is all about performances and editing. A masterpiece, just the same!
