A mechanic locates his tormentor and kidnaps him from there. To confirm his identity, he gathers many fellow victims of this Iranian official referred to Eqbal Peg Leg. They carry him around the city, even help his family in case of an Emergency. Fear of the Regime, and power of the emotion of forgiveness, does not let them kill him easily. They grapple with the question among themselves and confront their prisoner about his misdeeds who refuses to accept any blame or express guilt for his past actions.
The film won Palm D'Or at Cannes and is France's official entry in Best International Film category at the Academy. The Regime might have collapsed, but the story shall retain eternal relevance. How should the victim deal with his tormentor?
