Benecia del Toro is a brooding cop in Maine and is definitely not on the take. There is an air of intrigue around him in the department. They don't trust him, but they do not have any choice but to tolerate him. What do you do with an honest and sharp cop? Where do you hide him?
A real estate agent's girlfriend is murdered. Very slowly, the investigation tumbles into the narc territory. It ends up irking many cops and unearths an elaborate money laundering scheme. Benecia del Toro has a very dark presence. Alicia Silverstone glows as his wife. Justin Timberlake also fills a role with the best he can do. Reptile is too slow-paced to amount to anything but satisfies del Toro's fans.
