Three old men head back to their native place where they had also attended the university and played activists. There are skeletons in the cupboard which threaten to tumble out of memory. The native place, whose SP is one of these oldie's nephew, is in a state of political ferment. Death of a worker, chaos in the university and students' anger at corruption and lawlessness have turned the situation volatile. The Old Men look for redemption through the present, but do they find any?
Manohar Singh, Habib Tanvir and BM Shah are the three oldies. Ajit Vachchani plays the local SP. Rajendra Gupta is the University VC. Pankaj Kapur is a student leader, Sushmita Mukherjee plays a journalist. Naseeruddin Shah looks very convincing as the local politician-cum-businessman. The film might be 38 years old but is still relevant to today's scenario. Amazing performances, great direction. This is quite an engaging film.
