The scrip is more or less similar as Frank Darabont's Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. In that sense, del Toro has not contributed anything original to the project, but his cinematography is so very exquisite that it takes your breath away. This was del Toro's dream project and a long time in making. What an effort it has turned out to be.
Oscar Issac plays Viktor Frankenstein who creates a monster by fixing a battery above the lymphatic system. The Creature is played by Jacob Elordi. The attempt at finding humanity in a monster's bosom is done without resorting to preaching. Frankenstein is a beautiful film to watch, backed by wonderful performances from Chrisopher Waltz, Issac and Elordi.
