Peter Pan is now Peter Banning, has a wife and two kids and has forgotten all about his days in Neverland. He is a difficult husband and an absentee dad, obsessed with security and success. During a visit to London, Captain Hook abducts his children and force Peter Pan to confront his past. This is the classic reimagining of JM Berrie's 1911 novel. Dustin Hoffman plays Hook, Julia Roberts is Tinkerbell and Bob Hoskins plays Smee.
The film is good while it lasts but fails to leave any impression as it is quite thin on backstories and lacks soul. Hook is a good and profitable film but one of SS's lesser works. Robin Williams gives a very inhibited performance as Peter Pan.
