Narivetta means Jackal Hunt.
The film is based upon the infamous 2003 Muthanga incident that happened in Waynad district of Kerala over the issue of Tribal land rights. A community of tribals had occupied forest land after the state failed to keep its promise of giving land to the landless.
Tovino Thomas is a laidback young man who finds himself caught in the agitation. He had recently joined as a police constable but found himself in trouble because of his attitude. As he realizes there is a conspiracy to discredit the movement, he tries to salvage the situation but finds himself helpless to do anything. A massacre ensues and he is hounded for being the internal dissenter in the department. Burdened by his conscience, he becomes a whistleblower and helps tribals ultimately get justice. The film is beautifully shot and well-acted. It could have been a better film overall, but Tovino has done a good job.
