Abhishek Banerjee knows how to play rude on camera. He has that innate understanding of shades that are required to play genuine characters. On the night of his mother's marriage (needless nonsense without any back story), he goes to a railway station to fetch his brother, played by Shubham Vardhan. The latter is accused of child-lifting by a woman sleeping on the platform. Local cops arrive and detain the brothers. Gradually they get involved in the case and find themselves in the middle of a racket. In between, they are accused of being child-kidnappers themselves and are beaten by the mob.
Stolen captures the horror of mob-lynching down to its barest detail. They are coming after you. Then they surround you. You can make out hostility in their eyes. There is now no way out. And then they beat you till they get bored. AB has given a fine performance. Mia Maelzer shines in her role as a mother whose child has been stolen from her. Stolen is a damn good watch!
