Indian thrillers, esp. heists are a world of convenient short-cuts, lucky breaks, marvellous coincidences and contrived plots. Planning might or not be elaborate, but third-rate commonplace dialogues and tuppence smiles decide the fate of any plan, be it a theft, loot or kidnapping. There is no sense in following its intricacies, it is all bloody bullshit.
Jewel Thief fares no better. Saif Ali Khan is slick but too confident. He always wins and never once falters because the makers will it so. Jaideep Ahlawat comes across as a strong villain but has answer to any of Saif's cheap tricks. Nikita Dutta is uncomfortable in kisses and too dull otherwise. Kunal Kapoor looks good here, but he is no cop material! JT is watchable but forgettable. Watch it if you don't have a better choice or anything else to do.
