Court: State vs A Nobody (2025)

A watchman's son, aged 19, is in love with a girl who is as yet a minor and in fact a few months shy of turning 18. Few people realize that this is a very risky age where POCSO can be slapped on the boy read with many sections and his life can be turned into hell. In this case, under influence of an overbearing uncle, the girl's side slaps draconian section upon the boy because she visits his home and is also seen entering a room with him in a video.
Of course, there is no easy way out of such a legal nightmare. For the sake of his script, the director dilutes the intensity of the affair, declares it platonic, pure and what not, blames the police and takes recourse to simplistic ideas to save the male from being nailed to the cross. Reality is much more brutal. POCSO is way more complicated in practice. The film engages but ultimately falls flat because of its need for happy ending.
