Raj B. Shetty was born for such roles- Shiva and Toby, where he kills like a man possessed and evokes fear and awe in everyone around him. That is the power of the actor that is Raj. Toby is Tobias, meaning 'God is good', but the man turns out to be a fiend. He is troubled since a difficult childhood, is hard of understanding, mute and disturbed. But you disturb his frame of reference, and be ready for hell's fury.
Toby is a bit slow film, but beautifully shot and well performed. Besides Raj, Raj Deepak Shetty, Chaithra Achar and Mr.Reliable Gopalkrishna Deshpande have done well. The film has violence in abundance but rewards handsomely. I have become a huge fan of Raj B. Shetty in the past few days, having watched GGVV, Charlie 777 and Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye.
