Alicia Silverstone is a bad actress. But that should not have led to this film being sluggish. A couple, overcoming the personal tragedy of stillborn childbirth, is holidaying in a beach resort in Vietnam. Their overwater cabin gets detached from the property in a late-night storm and they drift into deep waters. The husband is injured in his leg. Wife is affected by guilt and self-hate. Great White Sharks attack them, they somehow fight. But then there is always an upper limit, when no help is forthcoming. As all survivor films do, this one manages to engage as well, but could have been a tad tighter. It is watchable, for sure, yet not a classic. Then again, what new is there to offer in these kind of films?
