Pankaj Jha is a marvellous actor. The third season belongs to him. He manages to generate enough tension with his guntotting antics to keep the interest alive. Durgesh Kumar playing Banrakhas adds some spice to proceedings. Aasif Khan as the bridegroom is also a welcome addition.
That said, the original cast is now entrenched in the minds of viewers. Raghuvir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Jitendra Kumar, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy are all quite comfortable in their space. But the strength of the show lies in introduction of tense situations.
One such is the farce generated around ex-MLA's tendency to harm animals. The climax revolves around a standoff between him and the village over the question of a horse. A scuffle breaks out outside the hospital. Watching Panchayat is so much fun! This is the best show ever made on Indian villages.
