The film has received a lot of hype because it is directed by Kiran Rao and backed by Aamir Khan. But the product is not that good. Simply put, it is the tale of newly wed brides who get lost from the same train. One of them finds herself deserted and in the next four days, learns to live on the platform and with the people that live there, whereas the other, who substitutes the first one in her marital home, gives wings to her alternate plans. Ensemble cast, most of them greenhorns, have delivered honest performances.
This is a slow burn, which is somehow kept afloat by two cops- Ravi Kishan as the inspector keeps the film together, and Durgesh Kumar (dekh raha hai na Binod), his assistant, proves to be a good foil to him. The film does not run on high dose of woke or feminist bullshit, which makes it quite easygoing and tolerable. It is set in early 2000s so the story looks quite believable.
It is a decent one time watch, but one that you shall forget as soon as it gets over. A word for Ravi Kishan- he is in prime form, and after Maamla Legal Hai, delivers another good performance.
