I happened to watch Desi Boyz some days back, and I was shocked, which I should not have been to watch such abject piece of film-making. Most of Bollywood’s problems emanate from the fact that the whole process of film-making reeks of casualness and insincerity, which ultimately results in products that are incredulous and gaudy. In Desi Boyz, Akshay Kumar and John Abraham fuck up an already fucked-up storyline with their third rate performances. Deepika Padukone used to look so different 12 years back. Multiple jobs done upon her have really turned her from plain Jane into a damsel. Chitrangada is still as hot, perhaps because she plays closer to her age. Sanjay Dutt plays a cameo, and is as retarded as ever, as is Anupam Kher. It is futile to talk about story, dialogues or plot, for there is hardly any. There is no oomph either in this film in which the male leads play gigolos. That says a lot about the level of sincerity of Bollywood filmmakers.
